Does Restylane have side-effects?
Side-effects are minimal and go away soon. They include swelling, bruising, redness, and some tenderness in the treated areas. To lower your risk of bruising, apply ice packs to the treated areas for 1 to 2 days, and avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, and St. John’s Wort a week before your treatment.
Can you apply make-up soon after the treatment?
If you must wear make-up for work or other commitments, avoid heavy application and cover-up bruises lightly with a yellow-toned concealer.
Is Restylane safe for pregnant women?
Restylane is not advised for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Should you use Restylane if you have allergies?
Restylane has trace amounts of gram-positive proteins. If you have a history of severe allergies, particularly to gram-positive bacteria, Restylane is best avoided.
